Hello friend,
Last week I shared that we’re soon launching our first-ever community fundraising campaign, and I have to tell you — I was floored by the response! A huge, heart-felt “thank you!” to all who wrote! It was so encouraging and fun to read and reply to your messages.
Before the campaign goes live, I wanted to expand on last week’s email. I started The Sill in 2012 because I was struggling to find houseplants (and all the necessary accessories, like functional yet cute planters and organic fertilizers) in New York City.
Like many of us, I grew up surrounded by flora. My mom emigrated to the United States from the Philippines and stayed connected to her roots through gardening and plants.
To me, a home isn’t a home without houseplants, and it turns out millions of people feel the same way: We’ve since delivered more than 1,000,000 plants to folks all over the country!
One of our goals at The Sill is to give people a “one-stop” shop with something for all kinds of Plant Parents: We’re excited to help newbies select the right plant for their space and we’re equally pumped to provide rare cultivars for our more experienced guests. (Just look at this new White Wizard philodendron that just came in!)
We firmly believe that The Sill will continue to flourish and thrive when those supporting the business are owners of it, too.
Keep an eye out for our WeFunder campaign launch email this week, which will include an exclusive link that will outline everything in detail, and also provide the chance to ask questions.
Talk soon!
