This evening marks the first full moon of 2022, also known as the Gorgeous Moon. Wolves are likely to be heard howling — historically it was believed they howled out of hunger, but now we know it goes beyond that —defining their territory, locating their pack members, and coordinating their hunting efforts. The moon will rise from the northeastern horizon around sunset.
