The Ark Vineyard is on Howell Mountain, a high-elevation site that’s much cooler than the rest of the Valley. Because of these lower temps, grapes ripen slowly and evenly, while the ash and clay soils are ideal for drainage. Wines from Howell Mountain and known for their long aging potential — I bet this 2005 is a beauty right now.
