Allah (S) has given us all the ability to observe, no matter where we are.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

If Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Power) in Ramadan is the holiest night of the year, then today, the Day of Arafah, is the holiest DAY of the year. You’ll often hear this day referred to as one of the pillars of Hajj, when the pilgrims climb Mount Arafah and spend the day in worship and repentance — but Allah (S) has given us all the ability to observe, no matter where we are.

The Prophet Muhammad (S) said,

“On this day, Allah, the most Exalted, descends to the nearest heaven, and He is proud of His servants on the earth and says to those in heavens, look at my servants, they have come from far and near, with hair disheveled and faces covered with dust, to seek my mercy. Even if their sins are as much as the sand or the front of the sea, I shall forgive them.”

Today, Allah (S) answers our calls — no matter what state we come to Him in. It is a day not to be squandered, but a day to dig deep into our worship.

Prayers to say today from the Sunnah of the Prophet (S):

لاإلٰه إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد بيده الخير وهو على كل شئ قدير
Lailaha illallahu wahdahu lasharika lahu lahul mulku walahul hamdu biyadihil khayru wahuwa ‘ala kuli shayin qadir.
[Source: Imam Ahmed]

Tahleel, Takbeer, Tahmeed, & Tasbeeh:
Laa ilaaha illaAllah
Allahu Akbar
Alhamdulillah
SubhanAllah

The Prophet (S) used to recite the above prayers as many times as possible on the Day of Arafah, in addition to making his own personal duas.

What a beautiful gift today is. The deeds are multiplied and Allah (S) literally awaits for you to come back to Him so He can forgive you and grant you anything you ask for. Remember, Allah (S) knows what state you’re in.

Not everyone is able to drop their responsibilities and focus solely on worship. Many of us have responsibilities we can’t get out of, but don’t let that make you feel guilty. Allah (S) knows

There are still ways you can worship and make dua. As you’re going about your daily tasks, find opportunities to make istighfar (repentance), or silently pray to Allah (S). Find moments when you can make thikr to yourself, give charity, and perform good deeds.

If you feel disconnected from Him, take today as the opportunity to reconnect. Pour your heart in prayer. Pray for yourself, for guidance, for forgiveness, for anything and everything you could ever want. Pray knowing your Lord is bigger than any of your pains and troubles. Pray for health and healing, for justice for those who need it most, for peace and happiness, for rights to be wronged, and those suffering to receive ease.

If you want to learn more about dua, and how to make it, this HH Halaqa led by Ustadha Mariam Amiribrahimi will change your life.

May Allah (S) accept all our deeds today, and may He answer all our duas and forgive us of all our sins.

Ameen. 🙏
