The Réserve des Célestins, now made by his wife and son, comes from the warmest part of the Le Crau vineyard, meaning grapes are uber-ripe and powerful. As the estate’s top wine, it’s only produced if it meets certain standards for that vintage. Talk about rare!
Giraud is equally meticulous about Grenache — and equally coveted. The family-run estate farms organically to ensure a long and healthy life for the vines. Their aging method is also unique — wine rests in concrete tanks, which allows for a bit of micro-oxygenation and further develops the wine’s character.
This top wine, the Grenaches de Pierre, is made from fruit from super-old vines, another source of concentrated fruit. Plus, it’s bottled in magnums, to allow for long, slow aging. Like Bonneau, they only make wine in the best years, so you know this MAGNUM is something special!
