Prounis loves to pore over pics of the glitterati who frequented her great-grandfather’s celebrated New York supper club the Versailles in the 1940s, including Edith Piaf, Judy Garland and Ginger Rogers. "They all looked so luxe," she says. "I imagine them all shopping at Bergdorf Goodman before going out."

Prounis’s hand-wrought pieces are crafted using ancient techniques (like granulation) and 22-karat gold—a warm, buttery, "magical" material that nods to her family’s Greek heritage. "My grandfather had an extensive library of Greek art and antiquities; and he loved educating me," she explains.
